Acne/pimples

Acne also known as pimples is a common skin issue which everyone of us would have faced at least once in a lifetime. acne is basically a clogged/blocked pores. the function of which is to drain the oil from skin deep to the surface. the clogged pores appear as comedone i.e black heads(open comedones) or white heads (closed comedones). 

Causes of Acne 

Acne can occur due to multiple reasons either at a time or in combination.

- Increase in androgen levels during puberty and pregnancy leads to excess of androgenic hormones which causes increased production of oil from oil glands of the skin (sebaceous glands) which in turn leads to oily skin (seborrhea) and pimples.

another cause of pimple is the bacteria - cutibacterium acnes (propionibacterium acnes) which causes redness and pus formation inside the pimples.
